Default 2000 LS400 Platinum

How's it goin ladies and gentlemen? Brand new to this site and I just have two quick questions for you all and I appreciate your time and feedback.

I'm supposed to be buying a 2000 LS400 Platinum series on Friday and the dealer specs say that it is a four speed transmission. I'm not 100 percent sure but I thought they changed from a four to five in '97 or '98. So I'm wondering if it is possible for a four speed to be in this car or if they just are unsure?

Other question is what kind of sound system comes with the car if it is not the nakamichi?

And one last thing I guess while I'm here. I owned a 1999 LS400 non platinum edition for 6 years and it was the best thing ever. In my opinion the rims on the platinum edition look terrible compared to the non platinum ones. So I was wondering if anyone knows a reputable spot where I could possibly get replacement non platinum edition rims?

Again, I appreciate your guys time and hope to speak to you soon.
-Thanks
Dan

dan, welcome and you've come to the right place.

yes indeed all 98-00 models are five speed autos so it is very likely the dealer made a mistake. 90-97 models are four speed.

if it's not nak, the car is comes standard with a pioneer system. it is still very decent for what it is.

a good place to get OEM replacements is usually craigslist or ebay. try to find locals so shipping cost is not an issue.

You can view the specs for the three Platinum Series packages at http://www.lexus.com/contact/pdf/2000/2000LSspecs.pdf

Mine is an "SF". The Platinum Series wheels is one of my favorite features - same as the standard 01-02 LS430 wheels. The ones on my car were chromed by an aftermarket company.
