Default Australia - Wollongong - ECU problem

Hi all - wondering if anybody is able to recommend a shop that is able to do ECU repairs (capacitor replacement) as per this thread - https://www.clublexus.com/forums/ls4...pacitor-3.html.

Currently i am thinking of having a local electronics shop do the capacitor replacement however that means that i have to remove the ECU unit myself.

I'm in Wollongong area.

thx
Pete

Good Luck!

you need to, at a minimum, be sure to order the very rare capacitors that I have linked to in post #1 of the ECU capacitors thread, because there are no substitutes, only the very few I have listed are the precise rare combination of long life, low-ESR, high temperature, high ripple current premium Japanese capacitors.

so no local store or electronics shop or technician will have these rare capacitors, this is why you must order them yourself if you want the repair to work!

and sadly, after seeing 100's of rebuilt ECU's by dozens of companies, I have never seen one repaired correctly and using the correct capacitors

This is why I encourage people to do it themselves, you can't possibly screw it up more than the ECUs that have been rebuilt that are sold on ebay, craigslist, or by any number of "performance" shops or "ECU repair specialists"

and yes, you will have to remove the ECU yourself, if you are decent with a wrench, and good with delicate trim, the lower glove box and ECU can be removed in 30 minutes or even much less!
