That cable was part of the factory phone that came with the car. It seems the prior owner already removed the actual box that was bolted in that corner. I've thought about tinting the windshield lightly also but am worried it might interfere with the auto light sensor that's on the left side of the dash near the windshield.

I LOVE your car, I really think you made the right decision in grabbing it. It is MINT. These cars are known for having leaky trunk/boot (take your pick) lid seals. I know mine leaks. I picked up this stuff from auto zone and tried to reseal it myself.

It is good stuff but my trunk lid seal is still leaking. I know what I am about to say sounds insane but: You might want to find a friend you REALLY trust, and crawl into your trunk with a flash light while he/she wets your trunk with a hose. At least you can verify the source of the leak this way.

I've been trying to find a place that sells the trunk lid seal for our car. (well mine is a 94 so not exactly the same as yours)... but I have been having trouble finding the right part. I cant even figure out the Toyota part number for the trunk lid seal.

...but like you said, the water was clear, so hopefully your just sprayed the crap out of it a bit too much! ..lol

Pull back the carpet and check that the bumper mounting nuts are tight or there..

@Aomdedude1 Thanks a lot you seem to really like it, you think it's that mint? Pictures don't really do justice ya kno It was mostly impulsive that I decided to think about and even end up purchasing a LS400. Everything seemed good and well documented had to do I think. I may do that water test soon enough, I only noticed shortly before I made the post about finding water

@xxmariolxx similar, most the water also ended up @ spare compartment

@Shmee They were flush against the trunk body, I'll double check with a water test with someone or myself to look for it while it rains

there should be 5-7 along the aft face of the trunk, below the opening, where the bumper meets the frame.

@Sha4000 Ah, that's true though that it may interfere with the sensor hm... I may just go thru with it anyways, just skeptical about any liquids from tinting going under the front of dash. What box was suppose to be there? I Could care less about the phone haha

@Shmee Will be re-checking later today

LOL you bought the car before reading the thread comments! sounds like something I'd do too!
Its quite the paint process they did on this car, looks nice all your polishing!
Its a high quality machine, not the sportiest on the planet, but once you get used to the fit and finish and "niceness" of this thing, hard to goto anything less.

Heated seats! you live in California! mmmmm I bet you can wear shorts year round!

@Shmee, these bolts are suppose to be visible when looking INTO the trunk right?

@Sha, I assume that'll not be necessary? lol

@King HAHA impulsive and inpatients ftw. Thanks, ever since I discovered use of clay bar nearly a decade ago it had to be done and followed by polish for all cars. I've been using Nufinish polish for the longest time now, if anyone knows about or have a better alternative lmk unless nufinish is still good with their formula. Yep so far the LS400 is super solid and nice overall mechanical and feature wise. Not a shorts wearer outside of exercise function but I think it can be done and some people do it lol.

What? How do you live in Cali and not wear shorts?? lol Man, I live in super sunny AZ and I wear pants one week out of the year and sometimes on holidays if I happen to wander into church or if my wife tricks me into going to a wedding.

On a serious note, car is looking good so far. I think you made a nice pickup and you won't regret it.

You would have to remove the trunk liners to access the bumper bolts.
