Default 1995 Lexus LS400 shortlived :/

What's up c-l? I haven't been on here in a long time. I've been working alot and the first day of October I bought a clean white on grey LS400 in great shape with no issues. It's definitely the smoothest car I ever drove and the v8 is much quicker the my GS. Then 2 weeks ago i told my fiancé to use it for work while i checked her tires because they were making noise. And she hit a patch of black ice a mile away from her exit in Indiana and the car slid left and ran head on into the concrete median at 45-50mph. She made it out alive and with a bad knee injury from the dash, a concussion, and a few other injuries. I'm glad I told her to take the lex instead of her taurus because honestly I don't think she would have survived. The lex is totaled but it went out saving her life so I'm proud of how safe it was. It easily could've been much worse if other cars were involved because an hour later there was a pile up a couple miles away.

Here's some of the only pics I took of it, my bad for the cell pic quality.

Now my plan is to take the car apart and maybe swap the v8 into the gs down the line.

edit: almost forgot the wreck pic.

Ouch... sorry for the loss of the Lexus.. I do hope you fiance has a full and speedy recovery. Guess you'll need to go LS shopping again. Once you've had one, it's hard to do without.

They weigh 2 tons and are built like a tank that's the difference in build quality compared with lesser cars hence the protection it provided to your girlfriend.
The car can be replaced, people can't.

If you have insurance, they are supposed to replace the car. Some companies will replace it with one that is one year newer. If you live near a big city. The Lexus dealers may have LS400s on hand for sale, and not for big dough.

Wow, sorry to hear about your car. But more importantly your fiancé is OK and hopefully she gets better soon. Good luck with finding another LS! Time to go shopping.

Thank you everyone for well wishes, it means alot! Shes still in a world of pain but shes getting better, and I'm very glad she was driving that one instead of the taurus, like it was said it's safe, very solid and built like a tank. I have been sold on lexus for a while so I'll definitely be back in one. I like that quote btw Steve 200 "cars can be replaced, people cant." Sooo true. And thanks for the insurance advice sshhlexus, I already got it straightened out.
