Default l990 Ls400 throttle problems

Hi, first of all I'd like to thank you for taking the time to read my post. Well I recently purchased a 1990 Lexus and just a couple weeks ago the throttle uncontrollably accelerated now I can't even leave it in park otherwise the rpm's shoot up to 6-7000 RPM's. What would Cause this and how can I fix it? Thank You for your time!

this could be several things:

● throttle pedal (make sure it is snapping back and not getting hung up in floor mat) - it should return to original position when pushed and then let go with your hand
● throttle cable
● ECU
● throttle position sensor
● another sensor feeding the ECU incorrect information

please download the codes as shown here - car does not need to be running to do this

It's likely something binding in the Throttle cable, or on the throttle itself. Have you checked under the hood to make certain everything is operating correctly? I bet the throttle is stuck wide open if not!
