Maaco just called me today to say its ready but I cannot get up there until Saturday morning to get it.

The sales rep said he was "amazed" at how well it turned out and said he is certain I will be impressed. I will snap and upload some pictures this weekend.

Lots happening to this LS in the next 7-14 days.

Recovering the seats professionally
New double din head until being installed
New center caps for wheels
A couple of trim pieces (rear door handles, inside)
Timing belt and water pump
New hood shocks
New emblems

Then I am going to pull the ECU and recap it. No issues that I am aware of, but as a matter of maintenance and who knows maybe some untapped performance

Labor of love, but I am bringing this baby to her former glory

Is this deal still going on? Do they ruin it every year? My ls is lacking a little in the paint department.

Got my LS back from Maaco and I have to say I am pretty impressed. Below are some pictures that are quick snaps from the iphone and do not do it justice. The car sat for a few days and had dust and frost all over it. I will take some better ones after I replace the gold emblems on the car and center caps with new silver ones and clean it up.

Some observations:

Keep in mind their are some water spots and dust from sitting when looking at the pics
For the record, I hate the dark corner lens from the previous owner and will be replacing them with OEM clears
The only over spray I could find was a very little bit on the top portion of the grill.
The did an excellent job repairing the dual deep scratches that were 18-24" inches across
The two tone came out better than i expected.
It is probably not a 3k paint job to be sure, but for 1,000 with repairs I have zero complaints
The durability will be the real key to any value

they do know the grille comes off in about one minute yet there is over spray on it? sounds like a $650 paint job

Well you are certainly entitled to your opinion - as myopic as it is - but a little over spray that I did not even catch at first is a small price to pay for what i think is a great value.

It's fast pace, high production shop, they won't unbolt most parts like big expensive body shop would.

that looks good for a 650$ paintjob, just beware that a friend of mine got a similar priced paintjob. After time it started fading, looks good though

Hello,

How's the paint holding up? I was thinking to do the same for my 03 GX470.

Thanks.
