Probably the most stupid question ever: locked out w/disconnected battery
So here I am working on my timing belt. It got dark, late evening, and I decide to call it a day and continue tomorrow. I pack up my tools and parts, and since battery is disconnected, I locked the doors using the manual lock on the inside of doors... slammed the hood shut, closed the trunk, and that was that.
And then my wife asks: "How do I get the stuff out of the car? The remote does not work and the key does not work..."
You should've seen the stupid look on my face.
Basically, if I don't figure out how to pop the hood from below (radiator is out), I don't know how I will open the car at all! The car is not on ramps/stands, so there is not that much space below the car.
If anyone was in this predicament before, let me know how you got out of it. Or if you know how I can reach the hood cable... or any other suggestion... Right now I can only open the trunk, but that does nothing as one cannot get to the cabin from trunk...

I tried the key in the lock and it did not work.
Then my wife tried the key just now, and the door unlocked (so she says). She just did it, so I am going out to check...
I must've been really tired last night, because I swear I tried the key and it did nothing.
