Started to work on getting my center console done today. I still need to get a shift boot and I want a different shift ****. But here is what I did today. Now keep in mind the diamond plate was not really what I wanted but I had it sitting around in the garage. I moved the hole for the shifter forward about an inch so it didn't hit. I still need to trim the plastic in front of the shifter for the boot to sit proper. I did a quick spray paint job on the diamond plate just to get it to blend a bit better. You can also see in the pics, neutral, 3rd, and 4th gear. Just to give you an idea of where the shifter sits while in gear.
If your referring to the plate I made around the shifter, its the same size as the wood piece that comes from the factory. Not sure of the thickness, maybe about 16g.
Eventually the front bumper will have an intercooler taking up residence in that space.
The car feels like it has a lot more torque. You can be rolling in first and stab it and it boils the tires off. That's without dumping the clutch. So much fun too.
