The owners manual advises to contact "service manager" before tinting rear window in LS 430. Has anyone tinted windows in LS 430? Is the antenna in rear window easily damaged?
Any and all responses greatly appreciated.

The problem is more that the antennae, defrost AND the Lexus Link antennae are all in the rear window or in the package tray. If you tint with a tint that contains ANY kind of metallic substances, and many do, you will hinder or prevent your Lexus Link from working at all, if you have it. If you have Lexus Link, which I believe is the only problem with tinting the rear window, then ensure that your tinting company uses a film that is NOT METALLIC. As long as you follow that, you should be good to go...

yes i do have LexusLink. Called my service manager today and he told me essentially the same. he said he has had several LS 430's in with tinting and no problems but he did say NOT to use a tinting with any metal content; ie reflective tints. He said as long as I use smoke,gray, etc it should be alright.

This is a correction to my previous post. The "smoked" tint does in fact have metallic content and will effect radio & LexusLink reception. Just a word of caution about tinting rear windows on LS 430's w/LexusLink.
