Default Oh no...

Now you went and done it, drew the line in the sand and dared the bully to cross. I bet that cool air here in Texas helped the car to your new record !!

P.S. Going to look at a 2000 Black LS that they "cleaned up", ie; buffed out the scratches, swirls, etc. It was getting dark when they were finishing so I'm heading back tomorrow morning. Man did that car have so much more power than my 96. There's a dark blue one in Dallas that I'd like to go look at, that seems like a unique color to own.

AH!H Those 0-60 times!

I'm so obsessed with that number. LOL

Was it cold outside when you ran?

Lee, YES, the air was perfect. You may have already learned more about this in the racing section but if not it was 43 degrees with 30.4 in/hg... PERFECT.

Also, here are the timeslips:

I think a Lexus IS300 would be faster because its weight. Anyone have the static on IS300? By the way, those are awesome numbers.

A stock manual IS300 should only run 15.5 in the quarter if that.

After reading your time slip. You can go into 13s if you have good traction. If you can bring your 60 ft time down to 2.0 or 1.8 seconds, your car can go 13s.

David, you are absolutely correct. All I need is TRACTION. The open diff and 225/60-16 touring tires do not allow for much more than my current best 60ft of 2.19. With LSD and decent tires such as Nitto DRs or BFG DRs I would probably be able to post a 1.9 60ft and nab a 13 in the same killer air.

Actually, at www.lexus.com under CPO and Model Library the factory gives performance ratings for all their cars. For the IS300 it is too early to find the manual times but for the auto they list:

0-60 mph acceleration 7.3 seconds
1/4-mile acceleration 15.5 seconds
Top track speed 143.7 mph

See the entire listing at: http://www.lexus.com/cpo/model_library/ise_02.html

Compare to my 99 LS400:

0 - 60 mph acceleration 6.3 seconds
1/4-mile acceleration 14.8 seconds
Top track speed 149 mph

Great times John, I wish you told me sooner so I could have gone!

Next time notify me a little sooner but at least my gf was happy I hanged out with her.

P.S.: calm down on the cross posting, a couple of mods are getting a little bunched up about it.

Default What about the GS430???

Those are great times but shouldn't a GS be faster since it has the same motor, better rear gears (higher numerical ratio), limited slip axle, and lighter weight? I've always thought the GS was faster than the LS.
