Post Help please: reset the brake Light sensor in ,94 LS400

Hi guys,

does anybody know how to reset the brake light on the dasboard? I just replaced the brakes and one of the brake sensor (rear right).

Thanks for the help.

Default Pad wear light

Dominic,

The Lexus Dealer method is to charge you $110 per wheel for a new sensor (un-installed price) and send you on down the road.

Apparently there have been people here who have had success repairing the old sensors by adding a layer of solder to restore a closed circuit. Upon contact , the solder will wear thru breaking contact & cause the warning light to function just like the originals.

My conundrum is that I have disconnected the sensor leads & closed the circuit with a jumper , proceeded to disconnect & then reconnect the battery & I still have the damn light!!!

I have an inspection coming up & am about to pull the damn bulb!!

Damon,

Is it the same dash warning light for tail light bulbs and wear sensors (If I remember right on my 91 LS, it is a red light that says (Brake!)? If so, you may have a bulb that is burned out rather than a wear sensor problem, mine was coming on intermittently until I took all my bulbs out, cleaned the contacts, and reseated them.

Hope that helps,
