Default Denso 143-2095 engine air filter question...?

The last ones I bought, they were all white filtering media and made in Japan. The ones received form Rock Auto look like this and made in USA. ??? Have they changed something?

hey RA40, thanks for being the guinea pig on this one!

but really, by the time you pay the shipping, you are just about at the cost of the genuine Toyota Denso Japan filter from Park Place Lexus dealership in Dallas on ebay w/ free shippin

My oversight because last time I had ordered a bunch through the dealer. My brain wasn't thinking where the filter origin was when buying from Rock Auto. I'm not going to worry about it. Will do an oil analysis in about three months and well see if any readings change from the last one. Cost came out to $21.14/each on this order of 2.

The printing on the box:

I was just giving you a hard time, I am often a smartass! - I could have easily made the same assumption and gotten unwittingly screwed by this manufacturer cost cutting, it's why I thanked you for finding out this bad news the hard way for the rest of us

yes because American manufacturing is notoriously cheaper than Japanese .

One to compare is a Japan spec filter. Can't compare my old one because it is dated well back when I bought the batch and they may have changed the filter media. If this is a take-off on the old 20004 oil filter to the YZZ replacement, yes it would be a disappointing scenario. I'll stop by the dealer and ask to see a current version time permitting.

If any of you have a recent Japan version, post a pic up to see if the inside has the same color. The front facing media is white.

Yeah, but like I mentioned, I'm not going to be concerned about it. The curiosity to see if they are maintaining similar from Japan and what we have available from Denso USA.

my recent filter change consisted of a dealer bought unit, tagged made in japan on the box, and the filter media was white.

i bought some airfilters from lexus pembroke pines earlier this year. Toyota box, made in USA. I was a bit disappointed, as i like all my lexus parts to be from japan, but like python said, it doesn't really matter.
