Default A testament to these cars

Well, today the great and mighty LS was tboned by a highlander. My younger sister was driving the car and she proceeded into the intersection not seeing the highlander. Thankfully she is ok and the LS took the impact very well. The highlander was going 35mph, in fact she had her cruise control set at that speed so she didn't slow down at all. My sister was only going a couple MPH.

This weekend I was going to get new tires installed and do a complete timing belt job and give my 99 Avalon to her. The LS did a great job protecting her and I'm glad she wasn't hurt.

Glad she is ok. That highlander looks much worse.

Glad the car did the job of protecting her.

Did the side seat bag deploy?

Wow...impressive, it did it's job well. Years ago my daughter took my Acura Legend to the post office... ended up getting t-boned on the drive's side by a subaru WRZ...or something of the sort. I believe the kid was doing well over the 45 MPH speed limit as the car was hit so hard the driver's seat was 1/2 the width it should have been and she had a fractured hip bone... did not protect near as good as this appears to have done.
Another friend had his parents fall asleep while driving their 98 Avalon on the Interstate... rolled numerous times and they walked away without a scratch... they went out and bought another Avalon...
Glad to hear all is OK, except for the LS... now time to find a new one...and maybe the TB is already done

Judging from the state of the highlander, that was one hell of an impact!

It might have, I will have to double check this weekend at the towing place. My sister is ok, thank you all for your concerns. I'm a little bummed out that the car was wrecked, as it was in near perfect condition.

In all its clean stock glory.

Man that thing held up well and I'm glad everyone is okay.

[Mod edit] OP does not have enough posts to part out, no further discussion of any such possibility please. -PureDrifter [/Mod edit]

Glad she's ok. It sucks that this happened and there's sentimental value to it but the car can always be replaced.

Glad your sister is okay. Really sorry that the LS is totaled. Hopefully you'll be able to find another one in similar condition.
