LScowboy has identified a winner! I especially like the battery test functions (tests under load rather than open-circuit)

So until the multimeter comes in the mail there's not much I can do. I did go to the junkyard a second time and pull another CAS just to see if my CAS went bad, also I pulled it completely out to the point where I didn't have to cut and re soldier wires, it cranked and cranked, IT almost turned over once though and then the same deal. Here is a picture of the one I had to soldier the wires on, also is this metal piece that holds the wires a type of ground? on all the ones i've seen it has a tiny bit of wire that sticks out, not sure if it's some type of ground or not, does anyone know?

hmm that metal piece could be a ground pin. did your junkyard replacement have that pin too?

That metal piece looks like it just holds the wire in place so it wont be flopping around and get chewed up by something. I dont recall seeing one on my car anywhere near the crank sensor. Maybe it was a 90-92 thing. Where was it bolted on?
