Default Flashing panel and motor failing and disconnecting

Hello friends,

I'm from Brazil (São Paulo) and recently bought a 1993 Lexus LS400.

The car is showing a defect strange. After calling and accelerate above 1000rpm, the panel lights are flashing and the engine is failing to turn itself off.

We did some tests but could not find fault with the wires or electronic parts. So we tried to analyze the Engine Control but could not make a connection due to system failures.

If I buy another Engine Control can solve the problem?

The number of my Engine Control is: 89661-50140 and 175000-5193.
However, I am finding to purchase only the 89661-50140 and 175000-5192.

Is it compatible?

Thank you all!

I stopped the car about 4 months and I look forward to driving.
Michael.

try this first:

if you're still having a problem then you may need to look at scrap yards in brazil, as the ECU for that market may be bespoke.

Thank you for the reply PureDrifter. I'll ask the mechanic responsible for using this tutorial you recommended and see if that resolves the problem.

good day

I am not sure from your description that the ECU (Engine Control) is the problem, but there is a very good chance that it is, since it is a very common problem especially on 93-97 Lexus models

The number of my Engine Control is: 89661-50140 and 175000-5193.
However, I am finding to purchase only the 89661-50140 and 175000-5192.

Is it compatible?
yes

Hello friends,

Thanks for the help so far. The case was solved by changing the injection module.

Sincerely.

please follow my advice at the failing ECU capacitors thread or else the new ECU (engine control) will soon also go bad.

be sure to buy the capacitors I posted links to from Digi-Key - I cannot promise successful results with other brands and series of capacitors other than the specific exact ones I recommended. - Also, counterfeit capacitors are very common, that is why I recommend buying from Digi-Key, they are the largest factory authorized source.

Yes, thank you. I bought the capacitors at Digi-Key as indicated and observing the year of the vehicle. Do not worry if you do not give results, but I was interested in doing the tests. Since I'm in Brazil, I'll have to wait a few weeks until the capacitors are delivered and I can do the tests. Thank you.
