Not sure if this has been covered before, when I picked up my LS400 I noticed the passenger side mirror flops back and forth. Not sure if it's an easy fix or not but wanted to ask people here first before I tried to buy a new mirror. Is there any pins or screws that hold it in place? I looked at the bottom of the mirror i didn't see anything that was out of place I could be overlooking something though I'm not 100% sure. Here's what it looks like

Has 2 screws that attach it to base. Most likely something inside broke. My driver side mirror was loose was too much trouble to take apart door to replace mirror. What I did was use super glue to hold mirror in place. Still works. I never have to fold the mirrors inward anyway.

ok i thought so, i only seen the 2 screws at the base and they seemed fine not broken or anything, I was able to lift the mirror upwards but didn't want to take it completely off of the base i wasn't sure if that'd make it worse or not so I just left it alone. Is it easier to replace if something inside broke?

You can by the whole side mirror used on ebay for look at a local salvage yard. Once you get the door panel off and window trim 3 screws hold the whole thing to door frame. Will yours move back into normal position? Does the power mirror still work?

If it just rotates to far forward than glue it back into position.

It moves completely foward and back all the way. I drove it down the street and it stayed in normal position. I've never tried to use the electrical switch to adjust it I was afraid it would mess it up more but I can try it no big deal.

broken plastic inside, only fix is a replacement housing sadly.

i was afraid of that, are the mirrors pricey?

I looked on ebay and around $40-50 for early model years almost double for later ones. All used of course. Not bad price i am sure if you could find new would be much much more.

thanks buddy i actually did the same haha wasn't sure how good or bay ebay was to check i try not to get stuff from there too often but i'll try to order one this weekend as well so i don't have to worry about the mirror flopping back and forth while driving

checked the power mirror switch and it still works suprisingly

Cool. I say super glue it in position and tackle the replacement later.
