Currently i have an s14, it's got a few suspension goodies, converted to manual and what not. Stock ka, just exhaust and intake. It's too small for me though. I always wanted an sc, but i can't find one in decent shape any where near me for a decent price. I recently come across what appears to be a high mileage well taken care of 1995 ls400. I am a fan of these cars, they look super roomy and I like that. My main concern is this, i know with the scs they always have some type of electrical issue, is this going to be an issue with the ls as well? I really don't want to buy a car that is going to give me nothing but issues. It has 310k on it, but appears to be in amazing condition. I can get it for around 3k. You guys tell me if this is a good idea or not. I am new to the Lexus world and don't want to bite off more than i can chew. I don't have a ton of money to sink into a car that is going to give me issue after issue. Is it the type of car that if i keep up typical maintenance that it will do me right? Will it love me long time?

3k for 300,000 miles?
i would not want to touch that. you never know, you could buy it and drive it trouble-free, but why risk it

I would pass on that one. Way too many miles for 3 grand. Although you have a list of "new" items, there's no mention of any suspension other then carrier bushings. At 300k I'm sure that front end can use alot of work. (Which can get VERY expensive) Take some time, look around.

Too much money for that many miles... older cars will give you issues... count on it... but these are usually easily handled if you are partly mechanical... but the more miles, the more things are going to wear out/break and need to be replaced.

Keep searching. I just bought one with 141,xxx miles for $3k and he had a **** load of receipts to show that it was well maintained. The right one will show up. Just be patient.

I agree with everyone else the price is too high. I paid 2500$ for a 90' with 125k over a year ago so they should be a lil cheaper now.

yes they are very reliable, better than ANYTHING you have ever owned, just slide on down into Fla and pick up a 95-97 LS, unless you can afford a 98-2000 LS.. I have owned 12 LS's, and we have 2 99's now... 233k & 170k

I love my LS, just decided to keep it over a 2008 GS. I've got 150K miles on a 99 and it's been an awesome car. Still quieter at 14 years old than any new vehicle I've test-driven (except a newer Lexus), and the ride is amazing. And even with a V8, I'm getting 21 mpg in the city. Minimal issues (knock wood) but I have done every recommended maintenance and do regular maintenance to keep her running. It's an amazing car, and I'm starting to think I got the best year ever made.

Mileage doesn't really scare me honestly, i know the motor is reliable...and i plan on replacing a bunch of suspension components anyway lol.

Don't touch a 300K mile LS for 3 grand. Got my '93 with 150K for $1800 in EXCELLENT shape. Of course this is in south florida where every one wants the new Lexus or Benz or Maserati so you see how you can get a gem that has been discarded by the wayside. Gotta SEARCH though. Lots of POS cars too. I too am moving from 240sx to LS400. Trust me, you want the 240 when you're feeling a little slideways and the LS when you're feeling extra VIP. It's a win. Trust me.






LS for the WIN. That's all I have to say.

Thats a lot of cash for a very high mileage car.

For that price you could get a clean LS400

I would recommend you keep looking around save that money for the right car that will as you say " love you long time" LMAO
