My Air Filter Mod

That filter isn't bad...knock the big stuff out and keep driving it.
One of the late spring seasons while driving on the freeway there was a swarm of bees. Those buggers plastered the front of the car at 70 MPH and made it look like the car had been on a 1K drive. Some weeks later when checking the air filter there were about 30 in there along with leaves and usual road gunk.

Wow the stock filter is expensive!! Most places wanted $25! I want to make sure that I get the same cotton style as OEM (not the hard paper type).
Note: We can easily measure if any intake mod will allow extra air or not. I'll hook up an SAFC and measure the air flow before and after (peak). But for the results to be accurate you would have to start with a new clean filter. We can do a peak air flow test down the same road with no filter, clean filter, and modded airbox and see what the differences are. The SAFC automatically holds the peak air flow measured.
My SAFC won't be in for about a week though.
Plans:
- Front of airbox removal (just use a frame to hold filter in)
- Airflow adjustment screw removal (more airflow through AFM)
- Resonator delete from intake pipe
- Headlight seal removal
- Some sort of heat shield between front air duct to afm to close the gap
The stock 93 airbox does not allow air flow from the sides easily even when cut open in the front. I realize that I may end up with some heat soaking in traffic but I'm shooting for maximum air flow at 80MPH so heat will not be an issue.
This is all just for fun ok guys? So easy on the negative remarks.
