Default Nakamichi Stereo / Amp Bypass

I can't seem to find any write up for the Nakamichi amp bypass. The wiring is a bit different, because there is not a right and left bypassed through the wiring.

The diagram shows FR FL RR RL and a common ground.

Usually people will add an aftermarket head unit and keep the nice Nakamichi amp. However, I want to remove both and keep the existing wiring.

From what I understand, you cannot add an aftermarket head unit to the factory Nakamichi setup and utilize the amp.

I'm trying to bypass the Nakamichi amp as well, but use factory wiring.

Because of how the Nakamichi is wired others have said it is just easier to rewire the whole thing. I also have the Nakamichi option and looked into this but to my knowledge no one has done it this way. When it came time to replace the head unit they rewired the whole system.

So you have to run speaker wires all over the car?

Correct. I am sure someone else can chime in who has tackled this problem.

Not running wires, that is the usual way.

What I am trying to do is use existing wiring. I've done it on many other cars. You basically connect the wires together that go to the amp, so that the new head unit powers the speakers.

The problem is that there is a lack of wires since there is a common ground on the NAK system.

I'm thinking of using some of the cd changer wires since they also run through the same area.

BUT turns out my speakers are bad so I have to replace all of them. What a PITA!
