Default TRAC issue?

I have a 90 LS and the traction control does not work. The TRAC light & CEL is on. What could be the issue?

First off, I would scan the CEL and see what codes it is throwing.

It could be an ECU issue, as these cars are none to have. You can search and read about that.

Also, check to make sure the MAF is plugged in and has a good connection. One time I was doing some maintance and forgot to plug it back in. I got a CEL and the trac light was on, but it ran fine. lol

I currently have the same issue in my 93 LS4.
I'm told it's the ecu capacitors as they're known to leak in 1st gen.
Hoping to have my ecu rebuilt in the near future.
I had the maf replaced because I was having idle issues.
Idling issues improved but got these lights in return. Before they were intermittent.
This week I'm cleaning the throttle body because I'm sure it needs it anyways.
And it should improve my idle.

Do you have idle issues?
A slight delay in acceleration pressing the pedal?

No idle issue, but it does have an accel. issue. What is the usual idle RPM for these cars? Mine idles at around 300-400, people don't think it's running.

idle speed should be 600 to 700 rpm.
