Brake pad warning light on??
The brake pad warning light is on and has been since i bought my LS. I just replaced rotors and pads all the way around but the light is still on. someone said i would have to reset the battery cables but i havent tried that yet.

i believe the sensor that triggers that light has a section that melts when pads get too low. the sensor itself is like $75 or so at the dealer. there are also posts on reconnecting the melted portion with a soldering iron. i just let it stay on. i use napa rotos and pads. the cost of turning rotors is almost the cost of new napa rotors, so i just wait til i hear the sqeal, then replace rotors and pads. if you aren't using real high end rotors, they are a wear and tear item anymore.

What you can do is strip it down and reconnect the wires to the sensor to turn off the light. Do this only if you plan on checking your brake often. If you are going to be depending on the indicator to let you know that your pads are low then i'd say replace it. You can get it on ebay for cheap.

the sensor is just a wire that gets broken when the pads get low enough.
Most likely whoever did your brakes didnt put a new sensor in.
Connect the two end of the wire and wrap it in electrical tape.
