Default Brake rotors/pads *best bang for its buck*

So my rear brakes on my 98 ls400 starting to squeaks and I was looking around/debating if should just replace the pads for upgrade the whole brake pads/rotors. Now question is what is the best brake pad/rotor I can get or what is recommended? Ceramic brake pads? Brembo oem replacement? slotted? Drill & slotted? And where to buy/order from? Seen some before from tire rack etc but haven't check lately. Thanks for all input! Looking to replace this weekend or so

Was considering Brembo for my '97 LS 400. Read in a popular auto enthusiast mag that the benefit of these expensive performance brakes don't help a luxury car since the brakes have to be heated by hustling the car and don't come in during regular or panic braking. My mechanic says OEM & just being observant and careful is best.

that only really applies when you try running extremely aggressive track compounds on the street...

Stock works fine for me. The OEM compound is ceramic and low dust. Now like PD mentioned if you are tracking the car where heat is a factor, most the stop go city slop we drive is on minimal difference in "performance". The other issue is poor braking practices: driving to fast for the given distance to stop using reasonable brake pressure, thus you have to stuff the brake pedal to the floor.

At 180K mine has the original rotors in it. Front and rear pads have 80K and the front looks to have another 50K left with current braking practices. Rotors I haven't measured lately.
