Default Fuse keep blowing-Best alternative bulbs besides retrofit/hid

Okay so I have well had hid on my 98 ls400 non factory one, had it on for about 4 months now and today all of a sudden it keep blowing my passenger side headlight fuse. When I disconnect it fuse is fine but when plug back in, there goes the fuse. So I'm back to that oem dull looking light and wanting to see what is the best halogen bulb to go with, might swap out the ballast with a different one to see if its just the ballast itself. But in the mean time I think I want to switch back to halogen, and want the brightest most output light possible. Something that is super white color, heard about the hir 9012 bulbs but want to see what you guys think. Be nice if can show comparison side by side, if unable it's fine as well, just tell about your experience is good enough :P! Thanks in advance

if it's blowing a fuse that means there's a short in the circuit or your ballast is dead/dying.

I've had aftermarket fogs (Xenondepot Volt) for 2-3+ years and haven't had any problems.

Never mess with the wires at all beside plug and play hid, when I disconnect the ballast that keep blowing my fuse, my fuse stay fine but when connect it blow my fuse. I will have to check this other ballast I have if turn out good then that one ballast is bad. Just want some halogen maybe have it as back up or maybe switching back to halogen

silverstars work alright but they tend to burn out faster than normal bulbs. the Silverstar Ultras are somewhat better lasting.

just swap the ballasts out, it's probably got an internal short.
