I bought my 98 LS400 a couple weeks ago with 179,000 miles on it. I've done a lot of service on it so far, and now going over some other details.

I have a service receipt for this car dated back in January of 2012 (@ 169,000 miles) where they fixed a power steering leak: resealed power steering pump and flushed it out. For the fluid, they used the fluid that comes with the BG P/S Flush Kit.

I am wondering if this fluid is okay for my power steering system since it is NOT the fluid Toyota/Lexus says to use (i.e. Dexron III).

I wonder if I can mix Dexron III with this BG Synthetic Power Steering fluid. If so, I'd like to change out a 1/4 of a quart at a time, for several days, over a week or so, to get it converted over.

BG Universal Synthetic Power Steering Fluid is supposed to be quality stuff and should be completely fine in the PS system. You can always call BG and double check to make sure it's fine for use in D3 applications for power steering.
