LSCowboyLS: there's unshielded wires on the entire left side of the picture he posted, that entire mass is shimmery copper lol. Mind you that's a pre/during repair image.

OP: Have you taken a multimeter to check if the ECU is getting power with the ignition "on'? I know of at least 1 other member (had a '98-00) who's harness was shredded like yours and he ended up needing a partial harness repair and a new ECU as the old one was fried. Major shorts in his case.

Correct me if I'm wrong but aren't shielded wires, wires that have insulation as well as being wrapped inside the insulation with another conductive material as well? The only wires like that are for abs in my harness in front.

I checked the ecu plugs to see if they're getting power which they are, my suspicion is leading to a bad ecu. Just tried to pull codes again and got nothing still, no check engine light as well as no blinking O/D OFF LIGHT and neither are burnt out I can turn the O/D light on and off. I can pull other codes though like cruise, ABS, etc so I know the port is working. Going to see if my buddy can send me an ecu later today and hope that's the issue. Bummed that I'm "hoping" my ecu is bad.

I've also been reading up on immobilizers, but to my knowledge if that tripped the starter wouldn't get power in my generation of a car. Is that correct? I have a 94 LS

no immobilizers until '97. That's not your problem.

Good news bad news haha

Car started today after replacing wires and plugs (thought it couldn't hurt the case) noticed my cel turned back on so I cranked her over and **** started right up but wouldn't hold idle. Car shut off and wouldn't start again but sputtered like it wants to. Pulled cel code 14 further inspection saw I have no power to that ignition coil. Chasing wires now though that area of the harness is a pita to get to. Psyched my ecu isn't fried and even more happy to hear it start up today with less than 2 weeks before I leave for basic that boosts moral for sure.

I'm far too stoked right now and a little embarrassed of myself but no cuts wiring harness came out perfect for what was done, after seeing that my my ignition #1 had no power traced it back and it had been disconnected further up the harness. Plugged it back in and she fired right up like nothing happened.

Thanks a ton for all the help while trying to figure everything out I appreciate it heaps
