Default Is 1994 antitheft ECU interchangeable

If my antitheft ECU needs replacement can I use one out of a wrecking yard?

Anti-theft? Is that the one in the trunk? If its for the alarm/keyless entry than no.

No, the one inside the cabin up on the firewall in the upper left corner by the driver's left foot.
It is the anti theft ECU, and it would not allow my vehicle to be started after I shorted out a light bulb in the shifter display while trying to remove it. The anti theft interpreted that as someone trying to steal the vehicle and would not allow current to the PNP switch and would not allow a ground to the starter relay. I picked another anti theft ECU up at the wrecking yard today from a 94 LS400 and the car started right up.

This is thanks to moderator Steve; he supplied me with a pdf troubleshooting the starter circuit.
I followed it and WOW, made my life a whole lot easier.

Hey guys,

I have the same issues with my car. Wont start. Just ordered me a used ECU. By any chance can you provide me the pdf on how to troubleshoote the starter circuit.
