94 ls400 hit a tree
I need some advice. I have a 1994 lexus ls400. I bought it with 100,000 miles. It now has 270,000. Mechanically sound. Doesn't burn oil, tranny is good... Two sets of tires (brand new blizzaks on stock wheels, and chrome wheels with Michelins). I upgraded the stereo, and installed an input jack for my Zune. I love the car.
I live in Colorado. My son lost control last week during a storm, and ran into a tree. Sigh,
The front bumper is gone, the hood is gone, the fans are gone. The body shop guy said the radiator frame needs a little work, my salvage buddy says it doesn't. The body shop quoted $4500.
My question(s)- do I fix it? Do I take it to the junkyard as salvage? Do I try to part it out? I am not a mechanic although I know some well...

Do you love the car? If so, I'd fix it. If you don't love it, and it's just a form of transportation-that just happens to be a Lexus, part it out. You could probably sell off a few parts here? You never know what members needs for their builds, or to get there cars functioning...either way, good luck to you Sir, and we hope your son is alright!
