My first time owning a lexus and haven problems can u help with ideas
I bought my lexus bout six months ago from a privet school disrict all highway miles 256 plus miles all maintance was driven like new til bout two months ago when it started with always putting power steering fluid but there was no fluid on ground where i parked at or anywhere i went then it started to smoke white smoke when i started it then stopped after runnin for a min so i drove it little longer then it started to have a vibration when i give it gas with an leak coming from manifold or excaust so i parked it til i got the money to put it to the car. So i took it to the shop and was told by two different ppl at same shop one said that its the switch or somethin like that to do with power steering and thats whats causen it to smoke. so tune up was done on it still does it money lost. Then another guy said that motor is done for less i want it to be rebuilt i know as far as that goes i dont think thats the case it starts right up no problems and ideals low with a putt so if anyone has any ideas or from what i say the issuse are what i should when i take it to differnt shop so this is all issuse that i see Boggs out from dead stop, white smoke, ideals low, eats power steering fluid, excaust leak from manifold or pipes but still has hourse power after a min

God that was brutal to read.
jb2wheels is right, your problem is probably the ACV on the power steering pump. Remove the ACV and plug it with an oil pan drain plug from the local auto store and then cap off the vacuum lines on the engine.

My first attempt was taking a piece of hose and looping it, as shown on page 4 of the thread linked above. That cracked shortly after so I just found a drain plug in the correct size from an autostore and it plugged the hole perfectly. Some people report the plug they got didn't fit correctly but I didn't have any issues on both pumps I tried it on. I can get the part number/post a picture of the packaging if you'd like.

Due to age, the pics are no longer active.
You'll probably find the car needs other maintenance fixes so don't be shy, update this thread so we can go step-by-step and get your car running well.
