this is the first i'm hearing of this

usually it's not even the sunroof that leaks, but the drains that get clogged because nobody ever cleans them. (cleaning them/blowing them out iirc is part of the dealer maint. procedure)

Clean it with a spray foaming upholstery cleaner or take it to a detailer for steam cleaning. The cloth in my 90 LS never felt coarse but I sold the car in '03 -- don't know how it would have held up 10 years later.

well I am a detailer , so I can just steam clean it at the shop. never thought about steam, it might help get that stiffness out of it . car only had 19,000 km on it when I bought it and it shows for sure on the cloth wear wise. foam is a little stiff too though probably from age

you are right, most times it are the drains what get clogged. But its part of the sunroof right?

And if you dont notice that you have water in the car, it can make a lot af damage though.

Look this fresh topic on the dutch Volvo forum: http://www.volvo-forum.nl/viewtopic....er=asc&start=0

Had a lot of water inside for quit a while. If he whould get it fixed at a original Volvo dealership it will cost him more then 1200$.

I whould never buy a car with sunroof !

Cool. Are you doing the work yourself? I haven't looked for an installer yet.

Same guy. I told him to post it in club Lexus classified. I got it for 100 bid (that's his reserve)

Well the car will be at the upholsterer this week. Should have it back by this weekend. I started doing it myself but quickly realized its a difficult task. He is charging me 400 for the install.
