Ls 400 poor aceleration and tailshaft
Hello!
i have a 93 ucf10 lexus here in Australia
it used to go well years ago , but now has poor performance off the mark
280 k
eng compression good
injectors cleaned
valve adjust correct
leads and plugs good
oxy sensors replaced
fuel ecomy good
i tried the resistor trick in the airflow meter , but no good!
it all started after i did a stall test on the converter - after that - years ago - it has Never had quite the same sting !
2nd prob, reoved the tailshaft and gearbox to replace eng. rear seal - tailshaft has had a slight vibration - only on take off - ever since!
i was very carefull to put it back exactly where it was !~
your ideas would be appreciated!

IDEA: a known age related defect in all LS400's which causes poor acceleration, and eventually many other problems

the caps are on the reverse side of the board you posted on the right hand side of your post (2nd pic)
there will be 8 caps total, I suggest you read carefully all of the posts in my GUIDE to changing your ECU capacitors
especially post #1 and post #8 and post #11
please be careful with the large flat grey ribbon cables attaching the two boards, they won't tolerate any rough handling and will not be easy to fix if you pull them lose - they will tolerate gentle handling to separate the boards and get them flat for repair however
