Default just bought car and it died

Just bought a 1995 LS and it died. The battery was totally
dead. Got a new battery and she jumped to life. Should I be worried it won't start tommorow?

As long as you didn't buy a cheap battery.

No point in worrying about it at this point- since you already got a new battery the only thing you should do is check it the next day and see how it is after driving for a while. If the previous battery was old and the car was sitting for a while it could have died out. If the new battery drains again then start looking at the alternator or any shorts in the system.

congrads on the pickup and welcome to these forums. Battery was probably just old, so a new one was probably in order. If you have further problems, such as the battery dying after about 20 minutes of driving, you most likely have the famous, leaky Power steering fluid into the atlernator. You WILL be able to find ALOT of answers about your car here on these forums, via the search feature.

Couldnt hurt to go to advance or autozone and have the charging system checked. Its free and gives a little piece of mind.

So started the car this morning. It fired right up then 10 miles down the road all the lights got really dim. So I made a U turn by the time I got back to the house the car died again. It wont start back up and all the interior lights are really dim.

So I guess it must be the alternator?

I just read this thread and basically the same thing is happening to me.
https://www.clublexus.com/forums/ls4...ing-issue.html

Previous owner just changed the power steering pump. He said it was leaking and he replaced it right before I picked it up. I guess power steering fluid leaked into the alternator?

Not always.
The alternator is a good place to start and is easy to check if its putting out current.
But my ground wire broke and had the exact same symptoms.
New ground wire; $20

But if the ps was leaking right before you picked her up, chances are your alternator failed.
If you dont have experience with a multimeter, charge the battery or jump it and take it to get checked at a shop or advance auto.
Just dont let the car idle and die after your battery is drained.

So I tried to start it again the car fires right up the previous owner told me to bring it back so he can check it out. I drove back to him which is like 5 miles away and he put a battery tester on the new battery and its saying the battery is weak.
I told him its gotta be the alternator. So he is going to get the alternator tested.
I have my fingers crossed.

There are problems with the power-steering fluid leaking onto the alternator. I would test the alternator and look at it to see if it is covered in fluid. If so, you need to fix the power-steering leak before putting a new alternator so it does not ruin it again. Good luck and let is know.

New Battery, New Alternator, New power steering pump and the battery light does not light up when the car is started on the indicator lights . Mechanic is looking for the wiring diagram now. He is checked all the fuses on the car the ones inside and under the hood.
What could be wrong?
