I bought my 96 ls400 with suposedly 165k miles for $2500 on June. The tranny Hit hard when placed in drive harder than in reverse even thoug I changed the tranny's 2quarts of fluid bout 3 times. However it shifted fine once in drive. Now the car has 175k miles and the transmissions pump just died on me. I put the car on friends lift and there was fluid every wear.

So now I need a transmission cuze without one the car is worth *****...what do I need to know before buying another transmission? Is there anybody here in SoFla that have a transmission laying around? Please help me and guide me in the right direction.

what kind of fluid did you use...?

www.car-part.com and ebay are probably your best bet for a replacement trans

was there a leak, reason why there was fluid everywhere? what are the symptoms of the pump dying?
