Default What does this light mean?!

So this morning as I was driving (around 15-20 mph) I heard this pretty loud *CLUNK* sound come around from the front right wheel area, then all of a sudden this red circle light comes on I then leave my car to run in the back for about 15 minutes, then when I started the car up again, the light disappeared. The light was red, and red usually means something serious, so I wouldn't want to ignore this. Can anyone please shine some light on what this light is? I would search it up but I don't even know how to explain the light!

This is for a 95 LS400 and it didn't come with the basic car manual so any help is appreciated!

Its about brakes, probably regarding ABS, unless you have a high mileage car and the brakes are getting close to end of life.

In USA its a yellow warning for ABS, in Canada it a red ABS symbol.

Could emergency brake have been on and its telling you its hot? Could brakes have been binding, got hot and now cooled so it was OK to drive. Either way, loud clunks, red warning symbols etc, get it to a dealer and get it checked out.

I was thinking it could be about my brakes because it's starting to squeal and i'll be needing to replace those soon. I didn't know there was a brake indicator light

Does anyone else know exactly what this light could mean? I'd bring it to the dealer/shop to get it checked but I'm stuck at work This really concerns me

Whenever mine comes on,its because of the brake pads. This is not something you have to take to the Stealer.
You can check and do it yourself or take it to joes's mechanic shop, you just need your pads changed.

I was thinking that it may have to deal with the brakes. So all that is needed is a simple brake pad change? I was concerned because of that loud clunking sound it made. I didn't even it anything either

I just answered my own question while googling "1995 dashlight warning symbols". It brought me to this thread https://www.clublexus.com/forums/ls4...t-on-dash.html

My understanding is that Lexus will send you an owner's manual for free.
Go to http://www.lexus.com/ and click on Owner's Resources.
Create an account, and you should be able to order the book.
You can also download a copy in case you have trouble sleeping :-)
Also, you can get the maintenance history for all service performed at a Lexus dealer.

You're welcome!
Someone mentioned it on these fora a long time ago, and I am happy to pass it along.
It's probably in one of the stickies, but most likely buried under other information.
Good luck solving yur problem.

change your pads soon or risk damaging the sensor. the sensor can be replaced for $$$ or can be bypassed using a method mentioned on here elsewhere. the bump probably was strong enough to trigger the sensor then when you went back to turn on the car, it went away. this means you are nearing you pad's life and it will come back again soon.

I will be doing that real soon. I'm picking up pads today after school.

So I just did my brakes today and the light is still on my dash. I read on this thread https://www.clublexus.com/forums/ls40...t-on-dash.html that you can short the wires? what exactly does it mean to short it?
