Replaced the 205K mile PCV valve, grommet and hose. The rubber parts were brittle and pretty much crumbled. I cut the grommet across the top then made another incision down the hole. It slipped into the vale cover while trying to pull it up but because of the baffle it was easily retrieved. If not for the cut splitting it, getting that round thing out would have been more challenging.
Checked the throttle body but it was pretty decent. Not much different than it was at 70K miles so it was left as is. Torqued the valve covers since they have been leaking. Discovered an oil leak down around the oil filter but since I was topside I couldn't see where that was originating.
This week an oil and tranny fluid drain then I'll look to see where the oil leak is coming from.
Picked up a 3/8 CDI 752MFRMH torque wrench so I was in playing with it, also have the 1/4 version and like that one too.

Changed the valve cover gaskets. What a mission that was. Well that was a few weeks ago but today I finally figured out why I had check engine/VSC after it. "Reset VSC".. wow.

96UCF20,
I don't remember when was the last time, or first time I saw a butterfly that encrusted...
Your gas mileage should improve just by removing the weight of all that crud.
I'd say you were over due

I'd say I was overdue as well! I got a P0172 code which led me to clean my MAF sensor as well my throttle body. I was expecting the throttle body to be dirty but not to that extent! We cleared the CEL after cleaning both the MAF sensor and throttle body and the CEL has not returned. The vehicle's throttle response has greatly improved and is much smoother now!

Today I got around to installing my RCR taillights.
I actually drove 6 hours from Vancouver BC to Kent Washington to get these . Everywhere I looked online was out of stock apparently DEPO stopped manufacturing them as far as I know.
I think they look pretty good !

Changed the diff fluid. Took all of 30 minutes lol. I slacked on doing it a while back when I did the trans due to not having a 10MM hex socket and a oil pump. Looks like diff bushings are not far down the road.

I'm not too sure to be quite honest. I purchased the car roughly two months ago and I've been slowly going through the whole car and tending to all the negligence. The intake manifold received some attention as well but it was nowhere near as bad as the throttle body.

Could have simply been the quality of gas used in combination with a lack of cleaning. Recent AAA report shows that non top-tier gas is worse for cars...or something like that. I remember the 19x just not the other part.
