Awesome. That is about as high as mount Rainier in Washington state. A breath taking adventure in more ways than one.
So what was the temperature up there and how did the car pull at altitude?

Probably around 50 degrees without counting the windchill. The car always climbs great up high and the turning radius handles the steep and tight hairpin turns really well. Downshifting a lot on the way down saves wearing the brakes out. We see a lot of manufacturers taking their new cars up there in camouflage covering for altitude testing before release, since it is the highest paved road in North America.

Third times a charm. Hopefully. The cluster that I bought off ebay came today. It only took 2 days to get from CA to GA and no extra shipping charges. Love it. It has become pretty routine to do a r&r on the cluster. The car has 165k on it but the new cluster reads 115k. I was able to put in a spare needle in the old cluster to get the speedometer to read but the needle did not light up. New one works great and the tach even reads right. So now we just need to put a new lower joint on the passenger side so that would complete the upper and lowers being new. I have the rear bushings and it needs rear struts. All it needs to do is make it to Feburary '18.

Replaced my strut rod bushings and did my first oil change on my LS400! The difference with the new strut rod bushings is night and day. I opted for OEM replacement bushings instead of polyurethane bushings.

Had been getting some small drops of tranny fluid on the garage floor. Couldn't discern if it was coming from around the pan or from the drain bolt, probably both now at 200K+. Replaced the crush washer with a fiber washer and cleaned the bottom of the pan.

What is a "fiber washer"?

Was discussing house chores with the neighbor...we both get sore even with the mildest of tasks. Crawling under the car becomes less and less appealing as the years pass. The motivation is that some $ saved can be used for other stuffs. Many things I still want to do though some of the tasks for varying reasons are better delegated out.

The aluminum crush washer is what I usually use. This session I noticed enough fluid migration that I was suspect whether it had sealed properly. The fiber type washer is larger diameter and has a fiber backing on two side with a center aluminum core. These will seal a larger area in the event of some stray dirt-grime that may otherwise compromise the thin crush washer.

These:

Meant for the oil bolt on the Corolla but they are they share the same I.D. diameter as the crush washer with a larger O.D.
