Default 1998 UCF20 HVAC specialist help needed

I have myself a 1998 LS400

the a/c works and the heating works in both zones. the fan works on all speeds just fine

My problem is that the center vents on my dash.. blow different temp air than my side vents.. on BOTH sides.. equally..

When I have the system set to COLD on both zones. My side vents get substatially colder than my middle vents do

and when I have the system set to HOT, guess what? My side vents get hotter than my middle ones do!

The amount of air volume is the same from the middle to the side vents. it's not an airflow issue!

what the heck could this be? My 1991 LS did not have this issue.

When I got the car.. there was no cabin air filter installed, and the blower had so much junk in it that it would barely spin on it's highest speed. I cleared all the junk out and installed a cabin air filter but the damage may have been done?

What could this be and how do I go about diagnosing and fixing it.

Oh, I need to pull my blower motor out and clean all the crap out of it. My car on full blast just doesn't blow as fast as I think it should....

There are servo controlled flap motors all over the place in the LS400, access is not easy to most of it and involves quite a bit of dash removal. Chances are a piece of junk has been sucked deep into the pipework and probably jammed a flow control flap.
