1998 LS400 Master Key Fob Programming
Morning to all.
I recently purchased my very first Lexus, 1998 LS400 with 246,000 original miles, original engine + transmission. The car runs very smooth, gives me great gas mileage and is an ease to park anywhere, specially parallel parking.
The vehicle was imported from the US, couldn't find much records for the VIN other than the car wasn't salvage / flooded / totalled. The previous owner gave me 2 keys, but both of them look like spare keys, no master key with the auto lock/unlock buttions via remote. Is there a possibility to program a new master transponder chip from my local locksmith dealer? I could try my local dealership but they'd charge me a kidney's worth for getting a new key issued. It's a royal PITA, having to lock all doors manually one by one, if anyone could give any suggestions, I'd be grateful.
P.S. - it's a work in progress, hence the front bumper blemishes and the yellowed headlights. I'll be switching over to LED low beams, since my RHS Xenon bulbs aren't working while the LHS does.
Thanks.
My car alongside my Dad's car.
