Congrats and Welcome!

the FAQ at the top of the page, as well as the stickies will help you with your new LS, as will the LS bible.

I couldn't pass up on it! I'll be posting some more pics later today. Any suggestions on where to start as far as upgrades/modifications?

306k and some change. Oh yeah, I bought the car from my uncle. Last time the timing chains were done was at 200k, and the water pump and power steering pump were replaced as well. Just got new tires 3 months ago. Around 200k the rear main seal was replaced. All of the work was done by the dealership as well. I'll post a more detailed list of service history later when I'm not at work!

Time for a new tb and wp since it was 100k ago. Nice buy and welcome to the club!

First mod would be to make sure the motor won't give you any problems. I'd then go get a set of coilovers and go from there.

They're on the list! Going to do transmission pan/filter, and flush out the coolant too, along with a good tune up (plugs, wires etc.)

The motor seems to be extremely healthy. My uncle who I bought this from is a big driver, and he always took care of the car. I've spent a good amount of time poking around the motor with my stethoscope and taking things apart to see how they look. Everything checks out so far!

Throttle body and fuel injector cleaning
Brake pads and rotors replaced

September 28, 2004
199,872 miles
Both main 02 Sensors Replaced

December 11, 2006
200,037 miles
Power Steering Clutch Fan Bracket and Clutch Replaced
Serpentine Belt Replaced
Spark plugs and wires replaced.
Water Pump
Timing belts
Cap and rotor
Rear main seal and transmission lines replaced

March 27, 2012
New tires

May 16, 2012
Alignment

A couple of things that have been done recently that I know I did not get the service records for are the new ball joints and front brake pads. I also just put a new air filter in.

On my list of things to do is:
-Replace transmission filter
-Replace differential fluid
-Spark plugs
-Wires
-Distributor cap and rotor
-Coolant flush
-Power steering flush
-Fuel filter
-Timing belt
-Water pump

Anything else I should definitely be looking into servicing before I get into other modifications??

look like the car has been kept in good condition and maintenance has all been taken care of.

main thing to look out for is wore bushing in various suspension bits.
and timing belt service

Few things I noticed that you did not list you might want to take a look at.

Thermostat, clean MAF sensor, main engine temp. sensor, timing belt tensioner, serpentine belt, radiator fan clutch, clean TB again. Honestly, if your down there it may make sense to go ahead and put a new starter on even if yours is not bad. They are a huge pain to do because you have to remove the intake manifold. If the starter is original then it would make sense to replace it before too long. In the transmission it is a screen not a filter. Once you drop the pan you will see the condition. You probably won't have to mess with it at all considering the trans. services. Just do the fluid exchange procedure and there really is no need to drop the pan.
