Hey All

Well I have a weird problem. I took it to the dealer when I first bought the car but they found no problem. When on a smooth highway and I hit 80mph my rearview mirror vibrates just enough where the traffic in the mirror becomes blurry. If I just barely touch the mirror the reflection is clear again. If I speed up to 84 or so the reflection clears right up.

Its not that you see the whole mirror shaking or anything just the reflection gets slightly blurry. You can still see the traffic but you can NOT make out if its a cop or a corvette coming up behind you. Also it does not happen 100% I would say about 90% of the time. Enough that its annoying. Especially since I travel right around 80mph 90% of my commute to and from work.

The mirror is tightly installed and feels very solid. I did notice that my tire pressure changes at what speed the vibration occurs at. I now have all four tires at 29psi for the smoothest ride. I do not remember if raising the psi moves the vibration to a higher speed or lower?

Like I said weird question.

OK I have that check at my next service.

But my car drive perfectly striaght and smooth as silk. I guess if it was the balance its minor enough that I dont feel it but it sends vibrations throughout the car?

Thats the thing, the LS is so smooth, almost anything, including something as simple as a rock caught in the tread of a tire can cause some vibrations that you wouldn't even notice in an ordinary car. Get the wheels rotated and balanced, what type of tires are on the car? Brand.

It looks like the mirror mount loose, since touching the mirror fixes the problem. I had a similar problem with a side mirror on some my non Lexus car when screws became uptight. You should ask a dealer to replace the mirror, I think.

I would think wheel balance.Putting your finger on the mirror changes the vibration freq.I have never seen a car that is so sensitive about balance.If balance doesnt do it check the engine and trans mounts very unlikely with your low miles.

Yes, the LS is super super super sensitive to wheel balance. I really think you should check that.
