Angry Wiper Flap

Wondering if noisy wipers, flapping, slapping can be adjusted to quieten them. They seem to have play in them so that when they reach left side of windshield , looking out, they slap when they start movement back to right. LS400 "97" Replacement blades are anco. Maybe oe wipers should be used. Thanks for your help.

YES!

I agree and I tried some Trico replacement insertss which were worse, that point where they change directions, it just makes a hck of noise!

I think I'll try some OE Lexus replacements, maybe mine are worn and too soft or hard or something. Maybe there's too much tension in the arm, but can't do much about it.

94 LS400 btw.

Even my OE blades make that noise, not as bad as the Trico's. But I thnk the OE replacements will be better. Let me know if it works on yours.

Smile Wiper Flap

Well come to find out wiper flap was caused by after market wiper blades. They were too long by a 1/4 inch. Put oem blades on and presto no flap. apparently when they were replaced someone dumped oem and installed anco blades and refills and threw away oem's

Question thump with wipers at bottom position

They seem to have play in them so that when they reach left side of windshield , looking out, they slap when they start movement back to right.
I have the opposite problem on a 99 LS400. The wipers thump at the bottom of the wiper stroke. I've also noticed that the drivers wiper doesn't go all the way to the edge of the window, so about 2.5-3 inches from the left edge of the windshield remains dropplet filled in the rain. Could you guys reply on how far to the windshield left edge the wiper should go? Does anyone else have the "thumping" problem at the bottom?

....just got annoyed... I was opening the hood to check wiper clearance, and found the gas charged lifters dont hold the hood up any more!

Any replies are appreciated.

I put anco wipers on and they work fine.I suggest that you check and see if the arms are loose or need repositioning.

Default Wiper slap both ends

I have wiper slap on the down stroke and on the up.So much slap that at or 55 miles in rain on the motorway they get stuck on the trim on the upstroke,So down goes the window a face full of spray push wiper of windscreen trim of they go again.I know SLOW DOWN!!! also happens on tight corners or roundabouts DAM DANGEROUS my mechanic found the blade on onside was to long and fitted ''proper'' blades but just as bad.Can i /he get to the linkage? to tighten/replace? https://www.clublexus.com/forums/ima...lies/Peace.gif
