Default Fan clutch recommendation

Can anyone recommend a decent (quiet) fan clutch for a 96 LS400? I put in an Autozone model for around $45 but it's darn noisy and keeps the fan speed up high and noisy way too much.

Thanks

Usually oem is the best. Try the junkyards in your area, maybe you can find good used one there.

I've ordered an Aisin (part # FCT-014) for just over $100. I think that may be the OEM part (the corp is owned 30% by Toy). We'll see if it keeps my 'airplane' quite for a few years it will be worth it.

Hey Dean,
I have the same situation as you and I was going to order the Aisin fan clutch because the replacement (NPW fan clutch) my mechanic put in is very noisy. Is the Aisin fan quiet and working out for you?
Thanks

I just wanted to let others know that the Aisin FCT-014 Fan Clutch works beautifully--nice and quiet. Shop around for a deal. I was able to score one for $89.75 online.

please tell us where you scored it for that price!

also, were you able to identify the manufacturer of the original part you took off?

I asked my question about the fan clutch on the 6th and it was around $92, and then I got mine from Amazon on Sept 13 for $89.75. The price does move around and I was shocked to see that it shot up to $112.15 today. That sucks! Prices tend to fall after the weekend on Amazon for some products, so hopefully on Monday it will move down some.

Visually the part looked exactly like the original one, and that was my reason for ordering the Aisin from Amazon. Unfortunately I did not ask my mechanic to keep the original fan clutch see what brand was on my 1999.

well Aisin is Toyota's second most used OEM after NipponDenso, but I always love to know the original OEM of pulled parts, just for my own mental database!

once you know the original manufacturer of the part, it makes it much easier to find the part at a cheap price by finding that part directly.

You probably thought of this, but maybe a call or visit to your Lexus dealer would answer that or inspecting a part from a junkyard? Let us know if you find out.
