Because I think that huge mufflers hanging out from under the rear bumper isnt a good look on a car that is designed to have a luxurious appearance. I would like a slightly more lower not raspy note and would like to see what someone has done with aftermarket parts thats hidden but has a good sound.

you have to realized times change and lexus at the time was copying mercedes benz designs with hidden exhausts. car manus are always trying to come up with different styling approaches, and end up copying each other over and over!
now prominent exhausts abound so that's what's in style today (i.e. tips built into the bumpers). aftermarket VIP luxury should be viewed separately since like all aftermarket they are based on individualism and standing out from OEMs.
in the end, it's all about preference.
