Power steering acv hoses

I just replaced the acv on the power steering pump. Does it matter which way the hoses connect to the acv? Is it possible to connect them backwards?

It's a hydraulically actuated air valve; AFAIK, it does not matter. You can test it by turning the steering wheel to the limit; valve should open.
