I have a 95 ls 400 overheating. A couple of days ago it started overheating out ov nowhere. So I changed the thermostat and it ran fine for a day then it started overheating again so I went to get codes for it and a temp sensor came up so I changed it but it still overheats. The temp gauge lowers when I come to a stop but starts heating up when I go.


Anybody have any ideas what it could be. I was reading that maybe there's bubbles in the coolant system so I might have to flush it but I don't know. If anybody can give me some input I would appreciate it.

Need to bleed the system for bubbles not flush it. Instructions are on the overflow tank IIRC. Open the bolt above the thermostat or the cap on the overflow and run the car at 2k rpm with heat on full and add water to the overflow as needed. Make sure your not on a hill with the back of the car higher than the front.

When it overheats is it physically boiling over or is the gauge just reading high? Needle fluctuation could mean air in the system. Follow the directions in the first post to fix that. But if it's not "boiling over" you may have a sensor/gauge problem.
