hellp with my tunes please!! stereo is all stock! radio works fine.. tape works fine! cd changer plays real low can some one tell me why this could be

I don't have an explanation for that, but most people's disc changers are broken by now. My disc changer went out soon after i bought it. Your changer may be failing, however when mine was dying it started by not recognizing discs.

My '92 works great; so much so that I'm hesitant to replace the head unit. I killed my Mazda CD by playing computer burned cd's.

Wow. If that kills them, then that definitely what I did. I bought 2 used replacements and they were both broke.

Something to check, the radio gets its signal from the CD changer via a cable, similar to the antenna cable. It plugs into the back of the stereo headunit. If that cable came out a little it would cause your symptoms. It just plugs in like an antenna would, it is just smaller then the radio antenna.
