Default can not rev over 2,000rpm stand still

not sure why i cant race the engine more than 2000 rpm stand still (at any position P, N) the car still run fine at D, 2, L. i guess this is electronically limited to protect engine/ tranny, but dont have any clue why?

I had a similar problem like that my car didn't want to go over 17,000rpms. I change the ecu now it's fine. Do you have cel or any other lights?

it sounds like your mass air flow sensor after rereading, i realized that you said your car ran fine, just when your in neutral or park. never tried that but yeh it could be some saftey feature, im gonna go try it and see.

edit; upon checking the car it does rev well past 2,000 in park or neutral. now if it wouldnt rev past 2 grand in any gear, i would say m.a.f.

Did you need to make any other modifications to rev that high?
