Default Brakes done with ?

Did the brakes and rotors this weekend. Pretty easy job. Took me longer to get the driver side wheel off than the whole brake job due to the key lug nut being stripped I have a question though. The spring clip that acts as a cotter pin for the two pins on the caliper. In the center where it comes to a point. That fits into a hole on the caliper? One side was like that and one side wasn't. I think but couldn't remember for sure? The side that wasn't looked as if that spring could work it's way loose? Anyone know if that's the way it's supposed to be? Maybe fine either way. But putting that V into the hole looks like it would make the pin impossible to work free. Wondering if I did something wrong

The right side clip is different because of the wear indicator wire. Maybe this will help you. The anit-rattle spring helps hold things together too.

Thanks for that. The only thing I'm questioning is the clip. That clip can rest on top of the caliper or you can move it out (towards center of the car) and down and there is a hole there that the center of the clip (the "V" shaped part) will slide into making it more secure than just resting on the caliper. I think? I can't remember how it was when I removed them.

I do recall, after much thought, that both clips fit into the caliper. I remember messing with this when I did my brakes so you might want to check yours to be sure.

Thanks, that's the way I did it. I had to go back and change the other side after figuring that out.
