Default Shutters when it drop shifts...

Yet, for piece of mind, I would immediately change the fluid to ensure you are working with T IV. Then you can check it off of the list and feel good about it.

Best of luck
I have a 1993 LS400. It has 172,000 miles and is in fantastic condition. I noticed at around 160,000 it started a slight shutter when it downshifts while traveling 40 to 50 mph... It the only abnormality this car has as far as drivability issues. It almost feels like the rumble strips on freeways (used to keep people in their lanes.)... Very similar.... It would only shutter between 40 and 48ish mph. Other than that it shifts fine. I put it up last fall. This year I noticed it's getting a little worse. It does it between 40 and 60 mph now. I manually kick it down with the OD button on the shifter when I know it's going to down shift or drop shift and then it doesn't do it.

I'm going to do all of these things you have prescribed above as they seem the most plausible places to start. I am just wondering if anyone else has experienced this issue?

I have two questions though. Where can I find kick down specs and what is the IDL portion of the TPS?

Thanks, Dwaino
