Default Nakamichi swap

Would I be able to swap over the major Nakamichi components from a 1996 LS to my 1998? Things like amp, sub, CDC, speakers, etc. I've read before that the wiring connections were different but wanted to confirm. Thx

sub+amps MAY work (though you would need to confirm the impedences are the same).

its unlikely that the amp will interchange, the CDC is a maybe, and the headunit is a no. ('98+ had different dashes).

Would the amp not work because of the connectors?

Only reason I am wondering is because it would all be free. My sisters car was hit and totaled so I wanted to grab it out of there before we sell it for scrap.

Surprisingly, the attached images show the part numbers for the Nakamichi amps on the 1996 and 1998 LS400 being the same.

Good pic. My car 1998 is stock Pioneer and her 1996 is the Nak. I'm guessing it's a different wiring harness too? Meaning no go?

Yes it is a very "no go". I assumed from your first post that both cars have Nakamichi.

Yeah stock Pioneer which isn't bad but it's no Nak, that's for sure. I may one day do a sub consistent with the setup I have now (read: no box; hidden in OEM location with amp under the trunk mat).

Unless of course I find a 2000 with Nak and low miles. We shall see.

But you can still get a Pioneer fixed - not so a Nak. If the Nak head unit in my 2000 LS400 fails I'll probably sell the car rather than mess with an eBay replacement and I am certainly not going to go aftermarket.

Maybe people want what they don't have. You want the Nak in your 98 LS. I would rather my 00 LS have come with the Pioneer.
