Default casette player acting weird

the casette player function on my 98 LS doesnt seem to work, i have a casette in there and it was working fine and this morning i tried to eject the casette, it wouldnt do it. i dont hear any motor moving, the "tape" button doesnt work either, everything else works fine, cd/fm/am, its just the tape player function with the eject/tape button that won't do anything, no noise of motor moving or anything. you guys have any ideas?

this is why i never leave my car with the cassette in the player. you dont know what it would do to the player or cassette with all the heat circulating around inside the car.

to the op, i think there should be a manual ejection somewhere. check your owner's manual for details (maybe involves using a pin and sticking it into a small hole). this happened to me before, and once i got it out i never used it again. however in my case, after turning the headunit off and on a few times and hitting eject the tape eventually came out. try that as well.
